Techisland has been shooting for awhile, a lot of stumbling blocks, but it is coming out very soon!! Watch out for it on RCTV channel 36 :)

My wife's Super Bling IPhone 4

I swear this is the most "blinged" iPhone 4 I have seen as of moment. The case was bought from amazon. I was hesitant at first to allow her to buy this case since I already bought her a Seidio Active purple Case but she insisted, and with a 8 month old baby inside her, you just can't say no lol!!! Yes, we ordered this for her about month ago, And I even ordered the Seidio one around 2 months ago even before we knew she would get an iPhone 4 lol!!!

Anyway, no regrets, she loves it. She has my switcheasy screen protector on which came with my Case while I have a Seidio screenie on mine. Both screen protectors are very similar, they allow the IPhone 4's retina display to shine while still preventing fingerprint marks and of course, the screen from getting scratched.

Can't wait to do facetime with her tomorrow when I am at the office and she is at home taking care of our newborn :)

Goodbye blackberry, her first words when she got the package.. Hehehe

Redfox Wizpad Finally Available in the Philippines.

I just bought photomarkr and I love the app!! Being an amateur photographer myself, I always wanted to watermark my photos taken from the IPhone and here is an App that allows you to do just so.

it's one of those apps that make you say, "why didn't I buy you the first time I got my IPhone"

Now I have some photos that I took from
The Ip4 and have watermarked already, problem is I am posting this from the my blogger app on the IPhone Which only allows for a single photo upload so I will
Upload those pictures later.

The application allows you to adjust transparency and the size and orientation of the watermark. It even supports logo watermarks too!

Let me take this time to give a shout out to my newborn baby girl Serah. She is in one of my sample photos.

Green poison jailbreak is out!

For those asking if they should re-jailbreak their iPhones which were jailbroken with Geohots limera1n the answer is No. To what I understand, green poison is now using the same exploit as geohot so they can save the one they were about to use for later. meaning, if apple somehow finds a way to patch this JB, they will
Immediately have something to release.

To those who have not Jailbroken with Limera1n, you may take your pick on which one you want to use!

Iphone/itouch Blueooth Photo sharing

I stumbled upon this not so new app called "bluetooth photo share" which allows you to share your photos and contacts with other idevices such as the itouch or ipad via Bluetooth connection. It also doesn't compress the photos when you send it to another device! What's great about it is it is free and available through the AppStore! No jailbreak needed. You may not be able to transfer music yet but hey, this is a giant leap from not being able to send anything at all.

Both devices have to have his software installed. Again, it's FREE!!!

Only gripe is that this works only from idevice to idevice and not with other Bluetooth phones yet.

Iphone Yahoo Messenger App now supports VIDEO CALLING! [UPDATED]

Frankly, I don't know what took them so long.  I think yahoo messenger is the most widely used Chatting application in the Philippines.  I have yet to test this feature but just the idea of it sounds very good to me already.

It will allow me to do "facetime" with friends who don't have Iphone 4's but do have PCs at home/office.

I will update this thread once I have put it do the test!

UPDATE:

I tested it already and here are the results:
Iphone 4 to PC both connected to the same network- FAIL
     It got connected but no VIDEO came our on both sides.
Iphone 4 to an Itouch 4th gen- FAIL
     It got connected, no video on both sides and I could here the person I called but he couldnt hear me.

I guess Yahoo still has a lot to work on.

So far facetime not only works, it's the best video calling application out there.

I was walking around the mall and was amaze at all the anime characters I saw walking around the mall. There's a big cosplay event happening at the Ayala Activity Center. I just happen to bump into the Mario Brothers, brings back memories!

Multitap key layout on IPhone 4

After I launched angry birds for the first time on my freshly upgraded and Jailbroken iPhone 4 os 4.1, Game center immediately asked me for my credentials, surprisingly, it used a Multitap keypad layout and no, it's not the Japanese keypad. I hope someone from cydia can hack this and actually make a Multitap keypad to replace the iPhones keyboard. I still know a lot of people who love the iPhone but haven't bought 1 just because of the keyboard.

Limera1n is out, time to Jailbreak

Hey guys, finally Limera1n is out, it ain't no green poison which I think will not be released anymore or rather temporarily postponed as of yet because of limera1n. I could be wrong. We shall see.

Remember if you want unlock, don't do this JB, you won't br able to unlock the new bootrom yet.

Unfortunately it is not as easy as "www.jailbreakme.com" the reason being it is an unpatchable jailbreak, meaning it will be a long time before apple can get this fix.

Geohot is back with LimeRa1n to JB your Iphone!

 

He wowed us with Blackra1n, the first simplest JB released and now, out of nowhere, he announces Limera1n.

Now, the nice thing about this JB is it is applicable to more platforms than the upcoming greenpoison.  So this will work with the Iphone 4,3GS,3G and the Ipad.  He is hoping to release it also on 10/10/10/
Musclenerd however expresses his disappointment on the release because apple will now know about two holes which they will strive hard to patch. Meaning, if Geohot hasn't been so secretive, they would have been able to work together and schedule the releases.

Oh well, what matter's to a lot of people is that it is out.  The long wait is over.

I finally got my blogwriter iphone app to function properly. I had issues with uploading the photo's before. Upon checking out the settings of the app, I finally got it to work!

This will enable me to do some live blogging on the go anytime, anywhere!

Also, since I am registered with dlvrit, my blogs get automatically posted on Techisland FB site and Techisland twitter account. no more redundant postings for me!! Wohoo!

Facebook now Allows Higher Resolution Photos to be Uploaded.

Up to 8 times bigger to be exact.  I still hope one day it will allow for a Full resolution photo to be uploaded, kinda like flickr so that we only need all our photos in one place.

This is still indeed a very welcome addition to FB and now your FB can be used as a backup location for all your photos!

Tech Tip for Iphone 4 FB Video uploading

Recently I have been uploading a lot of videos taking from my Iphone 4 on FB via the facebook iphone ap.

They look terrible on FB! I have just discovered another way to do it to make the videos look better, although there are some downsides like, you will not have a copy of the video saved on your Iphone library. Your only copy of the video will be on Facebook.


The Right way to do it.

1.) Launch the FB ap.
2.) Go to Profile
3.) Click on the "Camera Icon" as you see on the photo above.
4.) Select "Take Photo or Video" This launches the camera ap.
5.) Make sure to switch to Video Mode, shoot your video.
6.) Upload!


But if you really need to upload a video form your library, Do it through your PC.
1.) Record your video through the Camera Ap
2.) Connect your Iphone 4 to your PC and import the video (Ask me how if you don't know)
3.) Upload it Manually to FB

Again, the problem occurs when you upload a video from the Iphone FB ap using the "Choose From Library" Option, it compresses the file too much.
