Iphone OS 4 Released + The Unlock for latest basebands also Released
IPHONE OS 4
I have successfully update mine, and it rocks!!
No clear Jailbreak system is released yet for OS 4 BUT the unlock is and the UNLOCK does require a Jailbreak.
The Good News is You can unlock even the latest Basebands:
04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04 baseband(modem firmware).
While I am waiting for the latest JB, I am quite sure that there are so many Cydia aps that I wont use anymore like Backgrounder and Categories even Overboard since I don't think I wont have that much pages anymore with Folders.
I did encounter some minor problems like contacts missing numbers inside. I think this was due to the fact that I did not re-sync after the update. The reason why I didn't was upon checking my phone after the update I saw all my contacts were there, music and photos, so I disconnected the iphone and left for the office only to discover this issue. Will re-sync later when I get home. (Time check 4:22PM, June 22, 2010)
I also noticed that when I accessed my photos for the first time, it went through an optimization process, which was fine, but after I checked out my photos, thumbnails look fine but when I click on each one, they appeared blurry. Again I will check this later after Re-Synchronization.
There were also CYDIA installed itune aps that were still present but would not run anymore.
Here are some screenshots, if you noticed, my Logo Hacks are still in place after the update, sweeeeet huh?

You can also edit folder names, thanks to Bernard Sia for the Tip ;-)
"on the computer, you can change it in itunes, double click the folder and change the name. On the iphone, touch and hold the folder till it wiggles then when you see the folders inside, check the top bar, there's the name you can tap and change."

Note: This option can be found on the left most icon on your multitask bar.
Recommendation:
To all of you planning to upgrade coming from a prev JB. Do not rely on your backup,sync with outlook (windows) or address book (mac) before you do so and get your info from there just to make sure.
